Easter Egg Monsters

The siren wailed and the Ghostbusters answered the call. Sliding down the fire pole plunged the teams two scientist, Ray Stantz and Egon Spengler. Abandoning their latest work in the up stairs lab, where they had been trying to find the specific gravity of ectoplasm, they raced towards the lockers. There they met up with Winston Zeddemore and Peter Venkman struggling into their work overalls.

Winston zipped up fast and by using military acquired stealth and timing slid into the driver's seat of Ecto-1. He loved the rest of the guys like brothers, but there was no way he was letting them drive 'his' car this close to the auto show. All it needed was one careless scratch on her pristine white finish and he would be out of the running. Well, not again!

Deprived of the driver's place Ray opted for shotgun instead. Once seated he reached over to play happily with the controls for the converted hearse's lights and other gadgets. The siren used to call them from the far corners of the firehouse was turned off and Janine Melnitz, their Bronx born secretary, handed over the instructions for the bust to Egon. He thanked her solemnly and she smiled widely back at him before turning to open the firehouses bay doors.

With a somewhat worried frown at her departing back the tall physicist folded himself into the rear of Ecto-1, making room for Peter who came in behind him. Spengler looked the note over, a tiny smile stealing over his lips, then handed it up to Winston.

Winston read it and gave a whoop of approval. He started Ecto and peeled out of Ghostbusters Central into the afternoon glare, smacking Ray's hands away from the button that made the 'eewar eewar' noise as he did. Ray knew that the bust wasn't serious enough to warrant the sirens, but the occultist was incorrigible. Janine waved them goodbye from the curb, Slimer the little green ghost mascot they had adopted bobbing at her shoulder. The two of them were going to visit a nearby children's hospital later on, and wouldn't be there when the Ghostbusters got back.

"What have we got?" Ray asked, sneaking the red light to a faster rotation. Winston shot him a 'look', so he put it back, smiling impishly.

"Chocolate factory." Winston grinned at him, watching the delight flash over Ray's face.

"Cool!" he crowed, glancing excitedly at the other two in the back seat. Peter was smirking and there was the glow of a happy chocoholic in Egon's eyes - the physicist 'loved' chocolate. Right now Egon was re-reading the instructions Winston had handed back, Peter was hanging over his shoulder pretending to read along too. Ray felt sure that out of his sight Egon and Peter were holding hands. The two had been trying to act nonchalant about their new relationship, even attempting to hide it from their friends.

But neither Ray nor Winston was oblivious to the budding romance, both were watching the physicist and the psychologist with amusement. They had been able to secretly observed their two infatuated friends holding hands, checking each other out, kissing and even - on one memorable occasion - overheard them making love.

Some fairly intense solo action had been had that night!

However they were still pretending to be unaware of their friends' feelings for one another. Peter and Egon were shy about this whole relationship thing, and their friends didn't want to jinx it. Although just how long he could hold out before giving in to the need to tease the pair Ray wasn't sure.

The couple thing had startled both Ray and Winston when they first figured out what was going on, but besides from worrying about what would happen if things became public, they were cool with it. Ray had lots of gay friends when he had his little magic bookstore - the literary industry was full of queens! Winston had come across dedicated couples in the army, although mostly army relationships had been about sex. Don't ask, don't tell, and keep all knowledge of fuck buddies to yourself. That wasn't what Peter and Egon were about though. They had only had sex the once, and they'd been going out and cuddling and generally been behaving mushy for months. This was love, pure, purple prose. Ray doubted any candy heart they might find in the haunted chocolate factory would be as sickeningly sweet.

"Goopers in the chocolate factory. This must be your lucky day, Egon." Winston teased.

"Yeah, we better rent a wheelbarrow to haul him out of there. The chocolate is more at risk from Egon than the ghosts." Ray smirked, although he had plans on menacing a few chocolates later himself.

"Ignore them." Peter whispered in Egon's ear, "I think you could do with putting on a few extra kilo's." One hand roamed lightly along the side of Egon's ribs, then drifted up to squeeze his shoulder.

"Actually Peter, chocolate is an excellent source of energy. In fact, it's a health food." Spengler murmured back. But he couldn't keep the slight smile from forming on his lips, Egon just knew this was going to be a very good day.

"Shoot the rabbit! Shoot the rabbit!" yelled Peter, diving for a pile of crates. The boxes were soon splattered with slimy pink goop, as were the Ghostbusters boots that hadn't quite made it to cover.

In the middle of the factory, hovering mid air, a giant bunny floated dripping gobs of ectoplasm onto the floor. Easter was indeed just round the corner, and the factory was beginning to gear up for the festival by making chocolate bunny's and eggs. This seemed to have annoyed the rabbit shaped resident class five and his many weaker, small bunny friends.

Talking of the other smaller bunny ghosts, they were popping up out of slime filled Easter eggs like crazy. Egon (at a dead run in a futile attempt to escape being terminally slimed) hypothesized that they had been preparing to nest there until Easter. They'd have leapt out at whoever brought the chocolate Easter eggs and given them a nasty surprise. However they were now being summoned to aid their more powerful friend in escaping the Ghostbusters.

Winston had Super Bunny in his sights, and the sound of an ion stream hitting its target brought the others from their hiding places. Egon and Ray immediately added their streams to his, but the class five was too strong for them. Peter tried to stand and join in, but slipped over from the slime on his boots. Struggling instead to his knees and bracing there, a frustrated Pete Venkman opened fire, hitting the gooper full on.

Ray threw out the trap, as dozens of tiny ghostlings began to swarm them in defense of their bigger cousin. Ignoring the sliming they were all getting, the four friends continued with their bust. Using the ion beams they forced the powerful class five down until the trap opened and sucked the creature in.

"Yay, we did it!" yelled Ray. The remainder of the little ghosts took fright at the bigger one's capture and fled, leaving four triumphant but very slimed men behind them.

"Group hug!" called Peter, snagging Winston for a gooey embrace. The four men joined briefly in the 'life affirmation' hug. On bad runs the hug was a hell of a tension breaker. On ones like this, it simply helped spread the pink goo around more evenly. The factory floor was awash in ectoplasmic residue, the rows of broken, whole and semi smashed chocolate eggs were covered in it and even the ceiling had its fair share. Some of it was now dripping down in long strings, adding to the Ghostbusters state of goopyness.

Egon still managed to smile through his coating of pink slime. Now came the fun part, watching Peter work his magic in getting the busting fee. He could see his lover making calculations in his head, adding so much for time, proton pack usage, use of PKE meters, getting thoroughly slimed...and this time the contract was going to ask for a very specific sweetener for all their trouble.

The factory's manager came to negotiate, and their sadly dripping selves helped Peter in his haggling enormously The fashionably dressed older woman took one look and agreed to Peters demands. She signed the check with hardly a flutter, and that was most unusual, their bill had been known to cause considerable hysterics from the recipients! Egon quietly chuckled to himself, she had readily agreed to their 'extra' bonus as well. He would get his chocolate, and eat it too!

Happily they all followed the manager as, leaving a trail of ectoplasm behind them, she ushered the Ghostbusters to the factory's locker rooms where hot showers awaited them all.

The four Ghostbusters sat around the kitchen table, a huge basket of chocolate eggs being dolled out equally between them.

"I always loved Easter," reminisced Winston, peeling of the foil of yet another egg and adding it to the pile in the middle. Ray and Egon's experiments sometimes required a lot of foil, and Spengler was loathed to waste this opportunity to recycle. "Mom and Dad hiding the eggs and me and my brothers and sisters scrambling about looking for them."

"My cousins used to do that out on the farm." said Ray happily. He'd already had a bite or two of chocolate egg and was feeling a little hyper. "My Aunt would hide an egg for each of us, mine was always in the hen house!"

"My Mom hid me one too." Peter added. "She'd hide it somewhere tricky, and sometimes she'd open a box of Ding-Dongs and hide those around as well, to make the hunt last longer. How about you, Spengs? I bet your parents popped for a heap of eggs." Peter sounded just a little envious, Egon's parents had been considerably richer than any of the other three's and his Christmas and Birthday presents often reflected that.

"Actually, my parents disapprove of confections. Mother and I used to decorate boiled eggs and she would hide those for me." Egon looked wistfully off into the past. "I remember one year we painted them with pictures from my favorite bed time story book, 'Paleontology For Beginners.' Every small boy goes through the dinosaur phase, I suppose. We had great fun reproducing Tyrannosaur and Raptor outlines on the eggs. Mother even did a few as skeletons to help me remember the basic forms."

"Gosh Egon, but you love chocolate! That must have been hard, only getting boiled eggs when everyone else was getting candy ones." Ray looked at him in sympathy. They all knew Egon had a sweet tooth. Could this be the reason, because he hadn't had any when he was a child?

"I didn't know any different, Raymond. And the boiled eggs were fine. Mother and I had great fun with them, as I said." Egon paused to tease the foil off a particularly complex wrap of Easter egg foil, and while he was preoccupied the others snuck some of their own eggs onto his pile. Egon deserved extra chocolate after being deprived of it as a child, even if he didn't think of it that way.

After they had stowed the remains of their chocolate feast Peter stood and went to rummage in the cupboard. Casually he slipped a squeeze bottle of chocolate sauce into his trouser pocket while pretending to grab a packet of crisps. Sauntering off in the direction of the upper lab he'd subtly flash his prize at Egon as he passed and winked. A little while later Egon claimed to have some unfinished work to do and hurriedly went after him.

"What was that about?" Ray asked, frowning slightly. "What would they want with chocolate syrup? Do you think Peter's cooking up another prank?"

Winston rolled his eyes and briefly considered not telling the truth. But what the hell, Ray'd soon figure it out when the faint moaning noises began. The lab wasn't nearly as sound proof as Peter and Egon believed.

"M'man," he explained gently, "Peter 'knows' that Egon will eat almost anything, provided it has chocolate on it, right? Now if you were Peter..."

"Oh!" Ray's eyes lit up with understanding. "Wow, you think Peters going to...wow! Hey, Winston. Wanna go see if the listening device I planted in the lab is still working?"

Grinning Winston nodded, licking his lips in anticipation. Happy early Easter, guys, he smirked, following Ray down to the containment room and leisurely unbuttoning his fly. And may a merry chocolatey time be had by us all!

Oh yeah, Peter and Egon were gonna let them in on their little secret eventually, but until then Winston and Ray would indulge in some of the hottest circle jerks it had been their privileges to be part of.

Epilogue

Peter Venkman and Egon Spengler lay curled up against each other on a pile of blankets in the middle of the laboratory floor. Peter was playing with Egon's hair, Egon drew slow designs on Peters chest with one long forefinger.

"You think we should tell the guys?" Peter asked softly, planting a kiss on top of his lover's head.

"No." Egon replied thoughtfully. "The little ecto rabbit came to us for sanctuary. It was our decision to let it go. The entity was harmless and willing to co-operate in an intelligent way. Capturing it would have been to no purpose."

During the bust earlier Egon and Peter had been separated from the others and a small class two entity in the form of a bunny had approached them and begged for its release. Egon had scanned it thoroughly and declared it harmless.

"And the fact that it came bearing one of your favorite Bon Bons as a bribe had nothing to do with it." Peter lent in and kissed Egon's bare shoulder. Spengler felt him smile as he continued to rain kisses along his shoulder then up his neck to his ear.

"Mmmmm." He said, eyes going a little unfocused. Peter's hands were busy lower down as well and he had quite lost the ability to reply.

"That same little treat is still in my pocket, you know." Peter whispered to his lover, running his tongue delicately along the swirl of Egon's ear. "If you're a good boy I'll let you have it later." He purred suggestively. Egon moaned agreement.

In the corner, under a pile of discarded clothing, within the pocket of Venkman's trousers, a small wrapped chocolate candy began a decisive rocking. A tiny rip appeared in the foil wrap, and one itty bunny ear poked out....
