Reflections

I slowly wake up. I yawn and turn to the window. Rays of sunlight are shining through. I scratch my head. I look at the clock that is on the nightstand. It is 9:30. I look back and see him lying there, still asleep. Egon. Sunlight shines on his hair, giving it a silver sheen. I never thought I would switch my preferences to men. He is so sweet, so good. I never thought I would have feelings for him, not as a friend but as a lover. We have known each other since college. He helped me pass math so I could graduate.

He’s a good friend and co-worker. I like the way I can joke with him and he’ll give me this look. I like it. I love the color of his eyes; they resemble the sky when there are no clouds. The first time we did it was for our unspoken love for each other. It was hot and intense and I wanted more. We would sneak into the other room when Ray and Winston were fast asleep and do it. It has gotten hotter and hotter each time we do it.

“Peter…” I look over and see him staring at me.

“Hey, baby,” I whisper. He sits up and we kiss. A long hard one that tastes sweet. He pulls away and we stare into each other’s eyes.

“I love you.”

Egon smiles. “I know.”
